Tawarasugawara_shrine is not ususally introduced on the books for sightseeing because of that small scale. However this fantastic festival is done by only the villagers on 4th Sunday in October. Two big torch are ignited and delivered to the shrine. the long and heavy steps exist at the front of the shrine and this scene riding up the steps is the highlight of this festival. It is very hard to catch this moment. If you take this scene without preparation, it is doubtful you would take a photo from back or byside and miss taking the whole figure of a long torch . At that time, I tried to take a shot from the front and upper side by the use of a stepladder. I can take both, the fire and the whole figure of a long torch by this measure. (Manual focus, Lens20-35mm, Strobo, Stapladder, ISO400)
