Autumn festival at Muzukoshi shrine is very small, but one of my favorite
festivals. This atmosphere is the best I hope. Some ceremonies, Zinpai,
Dengaku, Okinamai and Sumo, look very old, and I feel an illusion I lived
in medieval ages at Nara. In fact those villages including Ooji village
with Mizukoshi shrine were the territories of Kasuga shrine from Heian
era to Sengoku era and have joined "Onmatsuri" of Kasuga shrine
in Edo era.
This festival is not almost known by the people in Nara prefecture, but
designated as Intangible Pressure of Nara Prefecture by the reason that
this festival is very famous in the field of Folklore. Sometime I have
met a reporter of big publish company when I joined this festival.(All Photos/Autumn festival-Mizukoshi shrine)
