Shisha shrine is the ruin where Yamatohime stayed for some time when she had searched the best place for the shrine to pray Amaterasuoomikami, the God of Tennou family. Shisha shrine locate at Mitsue village along the Ise road, where had been very crowded with the worshipers to Ise shrine in former days. Mitsui Village belong to Nara prefecture in the administration, but near the Mie prefecture from the viewpoint of geography.
By the way, Rion dance at Shisha shrine started in the age of post war by the villagers because Isedaikagura, Professional rion dance tour , had suspended in the war. Now there are few of Rion dances remained in Nara prefecture. (Reference: Rion dance at Yamato) Especially Rion dance at Shisha shrine is very showy and very popular in travelers and photographers.(All photos-Rion dance at Shisha shrine)
