Thre is a unique folk custom "Susuki_chouchin" left at the foot of Mt. Katuragi and Kongou/at the area of West Yoshino. The villagers worship to the shinto shrine hanging up "Susuki_chouchin" with a lot of Japanese lantern at regular Summer/Autumn festival. Especially at the Summer festival of Kamotuba_shrine, registered as Nara prefectural intangible treasure, 30 Susuki_chouchin with 10 lantern appear and present a great sight. This photo was taken at the climax that youngers were rounding in the field of the shrine handling Susuki_chouchin. (Manual focus, Lens20-35mm, Irisf4.0, 1/30 Sec.
