Old legend tell us that Miwaebisu shrine was built at Tsubakichi, ancient
biggest market. In the "Manyoushu" Tusbakichi was called as "Yasonochimata"
at the crossing of several ancient public roads; "Kamitsu- road"
which extends to the north, "Yokotsu-road" which cross Nara plain
and "Yamada-road" which was connected to Asuka, ancient capital
palace. It is, so to speak, a place like as Nihonbashi in now. The latest
theory say that Tubakichi was located at south side of Yamato river in
ancient days but moved to the present place at the north side of Yamato
river in Heian era with heavy damage of flood. The place where Miwaebishu
shrine stay now have been very flourished as a town beside worship road
to Hase temple in the Middle ages or Ise shrine in the early modern ages,
and famous as a market place, so-called "Miwanoichi". This festival
is praying for good business performance and gathering the real faith of
people in neiborhood. This photo is one scene of Yudate, which is one of
elements in Japanese shinto ceremony. (All photos-Hatsuichi festival, Miwaebisu shrine) |
