January 1, 2004 Best of "Self Praise" in last year
A Happy New Year
One year and five months have gone since I start this home page. And before
this foundation I had been preparing for three years and hold many photos.At
the start, I used digital cameras for another HP. But gradually I changed
the camera to reflex type for taking photos of landscape and old custom
of Nara.
So many images have been hold on my photos. But my preference have been
turned. At first I tried to take artistic one, but recently I feel more
good to realistic one. Because I discover there are many unique old folk
custom left in Nara prefecture and intend to hold data realistically.Recently
I study the knowledge of ethnology. Now it is my ideal to take balance
between artistic and realism.
Otherwise I established new corner "Self
Praise" on top page at the beginning
of 2003. Since then my favorite photos have
been introduced every month. At this time
I try to choice best one from those 12 pieces
as a follow.
Senbon_emmado is located in west of Kyoto
and make old performance "Nenbutu_farce"
during "Golden holiday" of May.
"Nenbutu farce" started at "Muromachi
period", 600 years ago, hold most old
style of "Nou and Farce" in Japan.
Generally this performance is very active.
But my this photo is very silent and inactive.
A lady is standing clearly against the background
of black. She is falling in love and run
after a man, but he is a priest and forbidden
to love. Her image is silence but her heart
is very violent in love. After that she change
to snake by heavy heart, coil the bell with
a priest and burn them by resentment.
This story is very popular in Japan as a
sad tale.
"Dojyoji" is one of performances
of "Nou". And the style of "Nenbutu
farce" in Senbon_emmado seem to be more
old than "Nou". I like "Nenbutu
farce" better than "Nou" because
"Nenbutu farce" represent more
realistic than "Nou".
This photo is hanged on the wall of my room
for 2 years.
By the way I have to say this new year's comment.
Firstly I shall try to make this HP more substantial.
Secondly I shall try to take photos of landscape
in order to prepare future step, too.
Thirdly I shall study the ethnology regularly.
Lastly I want to increase my friend by those
actions!
