Recently many success of the excavations around Makimuku ancient ruin in Nara prefecture have been announced in connection with Yamataikoku. I guess it is already sure that Yamataikoku originated from Makimuku area.
Sometime I go around Makimuku area to watch those ruins. Especially from Sumou shrine located at the foot of Makimuku mountain, we can look around the whole sights. We can see Hashihaka tomb and Kurotsuka tomb so far in the West of sight, which exist in the center of the ancient metropolitan area, Keikou-tenou tomb in the north, Sujin-tenou tomb in the South and Mt. Makimuku and Mt. Ryuouzan in the North. Maybe the palace of Yamataikoku exist in the field along the Makimuku river, surrounded by four big tomb and the Mountains in the East. Now I think it is good place to image ancient historical stories.
By the way, this is a scene of ceremony at Kunitsu shrine located in the area of Makimuku. We can not show the ceremony is effected by the Miwa dynasty. But You may see their furnishing image on those photos. (All photos - Noguchisan at Hashinaka)
