A great Buddha image at Asuka temple is my favorite one among numerous
fantastic images in Nara prefecture. Original remained parts are only eyes
and some fingers. The others are all supplied in Edo period. However this
image keep spiritual nature and his archaic smile fascinate ours in forever.
In ancient days Buddha images were usually prayed from the outside of the
hall like this and the practice was limited among noblemen.
